Biography
Babsi grew up surrounded by the mountains in Austria. She headed out on her first expedition at age 20 and soon climbed routes in the Dolomites and Chamonix.
Since then, she scaled big walls like El Capitan and the west face of Asan in Kyrgyzstan.
In 2015, she became the first woman to join the Austrian Expedition Team, leading her first expedition in the Himalayas. Together with her friend Simon Messner, Babsi has established several routes in the Dolomites and Tyrol.
In early 2020, Babsi climbed the Cerro Torre as part of an all-women ascent of the Supercanaleta.
After climbing in Patagonia, Babsi combined two passions: alpinism and writing.
In the future, she wants to break new ground and add her voice to the inspiring stories of women alpinists.
